Time with Mom and Dad

We had a great time while Mom and Dad were here. Our family spent a lot of time together playing anything from Rock Band, to Twister, or Phase 10. We also got some down time, and were able to eat, relax, and nap (as Dad shows that he can always sleep anywhere!) We had our family pictures taken on Monday and are anxiously awaiting to see them. Mom and Dad leave tomorrow, the time has gone way too fast! Of course, the weather will be fine when it comes time for them to leave! We are very happy that we were able to see them as always! As for New Years, we don't really have any plans except to relax and ring in the new year with our kids. Happy New Years!

Christmas

Christmas came and went way too fast this year! We spent Christmas day at Eric's parents house. We had a really fun day. We received a bunch of great gifts, ate way too much food, and played lots of rock band. Layne even joined in and played guitar for a song!

My parents were supposed to fly in around 7:30pm Christmas night but their flight was diverted (because of the snowstorm) to Denver about 10 minutes before it was supposed to land. It was so frustrating to drive clear down to the airport in that blizzard just to have to come back home without them! Luckily they were able to catch a flight early the next morning.

Christmas tree

We finally got around to putting up the Christmas tree last night! We usually have it up right after thanksgiving but We've both been so busy we haven't has a chance until now. A couple of strands of lights weren't working so we weren't able to finish it (very frustrating). Hopefully we will have a picture of the fished product posted soon!

Surgery

I had successful surgery on Wednesday to take care of some endometriosis. Hopefully this will be the last surgery needed! Although it took a lot longer than anticipated, the doctor said the procedure went very well.
Marie took the day off work on Thursday to spend the day with me, we hung out and watched movies all day long. It was great having Marie around since Eric had to work all day.

Back in town

I just got back from a weekend trip to Moab and as always I had an awesome time! The weather was a little colder than I would have liked but perfect otherwise. The trails we chose to ride all turned out great! There were a lot of fun, challenging obstacles. Just about every time we go to Moab someone manages to tip over their 4-wheeler and this trip was no exception. My Dad, Dennis, and his brother Dean all managed roll their atvs over. Luckily there was only minor damage to the riders and 4-wheelers so it wasn't a big deal. My Dad was pretty lucky, his atv landed right on top of him and he didn't get crushed by it! The storage box on the back rack and the handle bars created just enough space he didn't get smashed underneath it. He landed on his back when he tipped over so he was pretty sore the rest of the trip. There is nowhere more fun to ride atvs than Moab, I can't wait for our next trip! -Eric
